Remember, all 52 pickups are open to interpretation. My interpretation might not be the same as yours - make it yours, make it a mantra, make it life lived well.
This week the pickup is:
Wear your happiness with your smile. Wear it with your favorite clothes. Wear it with every sense you have - touch the people who bring you joy, wear scents that evoke delicious memories, cook amazing meals, smile, listen to invigorating music.
When you don't feel like it, when you're down, wear your happiness even more boldly.
This, is what we call my "happy hat"...ok actually it's "happy hat redux" (the first one got left behind on the first day of our honeymoon. Gasp!). The happy hat was (and is) a really cheap dollar hat. Somewhere along the line, during planning our wedding, the happy hat made it's appearance. The rule was simple - if you were wearing the happy hat you had to be happy...and someone else could put it on you if you weren't happy. You know what? It worked. Wonders.
Funny enough, one of the people in my life who brings me more joy than I can stand, who turns my heart on it's side, cracks it open and let's the full joy of life beam out uncontrollably, adores the happy hat: my daughter. She puts it on whenever she sees it.
I'm with her - put on that happy hat, wear your happiness as often as you see, feel, touch, taste, or even smell it. Embrace your happy...and let other people make you wear your happiness even when you don't want to.
